All persons in the city, when called upon by any police officer or other member of the police department, shall promptly aid and assist him or her in the execution of his or her duties.

No person shall resist any police officer or member of the police department in the discharge of his or her duties, or in any way interfere with or hinder or prevent him or her from discharging his or her duty as an officer or member, or offer or endeavor to do so. No person shall in any manner assist any person in custody of any police officer or member of the police department to escape or attempt to escape from such custody or rescue or attempt to rescue any person in custody.

It is unlawful for the driver of a motor vehicle to wilfully fail or refuse to bring his or her vehicle to a stop, or otherwise flee or attempt to elude a pursuing police vehicle, when given visual or audible signal to bring the vehicle to a stop. The signal given by the police officer may be by hand, voice, emergency light or siren. The officer giving such signal shall be in uniform, prominently displaying his or her badge of office, and his or her vehicle shall be appropriately marked showing it to be an official police vehicle.
