The purpose of this chapter is to set term limits on the number of consecutive terms a City Councilmember may serve.

No person shall be allowed to serve more than two consecutive terms on the Los Altos Hills City Council. Notwithstanding the above, at any municipal election after the expiration of two years following the two consecutive terms, such person may again seek election or appointment to the City Council.

For the purposes of applying this article, a person who serves over half of a City Council term, whether elected or appointed, shall be deemed to have served that entire term.
