It shall be the duty of every proprietor or keeper of any room or place where billiards or pool are played for compensation, or where goods or merchandise are sold as part of the consideration for the use of tables or other accommodation at such room or place, to cause all persons other than him or herself, his or her family and regularly employed assistants to depart from such room or place and to close the same and all rooms used in connection therewith, for any of such purposes, at two (2:00) a.m. of each day, and to keep the same closed until five (5:00) a.m., and no person other than those herein excepted shall be admitted to any such room or place during the time the same is so closed; provided, that police officers in the discharge of their duties shall have access to such rooms or places at all hours.

A. 
Definition.
Cardroom.
Any room, enclosure or space furnished with a table or tables used or intended to be used as a card table for playing of cards and similar games, the use of which table is commercially available to the public or any portion of the public in an established place of business.
B. 
Prohibited. No person, for him or herself or for any other persons, shall maintain a cardroom within the city.

Bingo, as defined in Penal Code section 326.5, shall be allowed in the city so long as the bingo is conducted in accordance with Penal Code section 326.5.
