The regular meetings of the City Council shall be held on the second Tuesday and the fourth Tuesday of every month beginning at 6:30 p.m. Whenever the second Tuesday or the fourth Tuesday of the month falls on a holiday, the meeting shall be held on the next succeeding business day at the same hour.

All regular meetings of the City Council shall be held in the Council Chamber of Claremont City Hall unless the City Council has stated, by motion action, that on a specified date the Council shall hold a regular meeting at another location within the City, or unless the City Manager, with approval of the Mayor, determines that a different location is necessary or better suited for the purpose of the meeting. Special meetings may be held from time to time in the Council Chamber of Claremont City Hall or another location within the City.

Any person appointed to fill a vacancy on the City Council shall hold the office only until the next regularly scheduled election for City Council members.

In the event that the term of office of a vacated council seat extends beyond the next regularly scheduled election for City Council members, a special election shall be held to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term. The special election shall be consolidated with the regularly scheduled election.

A. 
No candidate seeking election to the Claremont City Council shall accept more than $250.00 as a campaign contribution from any individual or single source within one calendar year.
B. 
Each candidate seeking election to the Claremont City Council shall file a statement disclosing the receipt of any campaign contribution in excess of $99 during any calendar year. The disclosure statement shall be filed with the City Clerk in accordance with the filing deadlines established for reporting campaign contributions in excess of $99 pursuant to State law.
