It is the intent of this chapter to provide for automatic zoning of land annexed to the City.

Land annexed to the City of Claremont shall be automatically zoned as set forth in this section unless other zoning is established concurrently with the annexation proceedings following the procedure set forth in Chapter 16.315 of this title, and where reference is made to the County Zoning it shall mean the land use zoning in effect under Los Angeles County Ordinance No. 1494, as amended to January 1, 1962.
A. 
Parcels lying south of Base Line Road zoned C-1 or C-3 by the County shall be automatically placed in the CH District.
B. 
Other parcels lying south of Foothill Boulevard shall be automatically placed in the RS (8000) District.
C. 
Other parcels lying between Foothill Boulevard and Base Line Road shall be automatically placed in the RS (10,000) District.
D. 
Parcels lying north of Base Line Road shall be automatically placed in the district corresponding to the County Zoning in effect on January 1, 1962, as follows:
1. 
Where the County Zoning requires a minimum lot area of 15,000 square feet or less, the parcel shall be placed in the RS (13,000) District.
2. 
Where the County Zoning requires a minimum lot area of more than 15,000 but less than 20,000 square feet, the parcel shall be placed in the RS (20,000) District.
3. 
Where the County Zoning requires a minimum lot area of more than 20,000 square feet, the parcel shall be placed in the RS (2 acre) District.
