(Code 1980, § 11.10; Ordinance
of 6/8/1987(2))
Before any person, firm or corporation shall operate any automobile
or other vehicle for the purpose of transporting persons for hire
within the city limits, he shall make application to the city secretary
for a permit for the operation of such automobile or other vehicle.
Upon the first application by any party such application shall be
submitted by the city secretary to the city council. If the city council,
upon investigation, shall find that such person, firm or corporation
is a responsible party and that it would be to the best interest of
the general public to issue a license to such party, the city council
shall authorize the city secretary, upon the receipt of $4.00, to
issue the permit. Thereafter, such permits shall be issued by the
city secretary to such party monthly, upon his application and payment
of the $4.00 license fee, unless the city council shall deem upon
satisfactory evidence that such party is operating such automobile
or other vehicle in a manner detrimental to the best interest of the
general public, in which event the city council shall order the city
secretary to refuse to issue any further permit or license to such
party.

Before a permit for the operation of any automobile or other

shall deliver to the city secretary an indemnity bond for $1,000.00
executed by some responsible bonding company, insuring all persons

shall be continuously lighted from one half hour before sunrise at
all times that the automobile is in operation.
