As used in this chapter, the following terms and phrases shall
have the following meanings:
"Public Building(s)"
shall mean a facility or structure owned or managed by the
City of West Hollywood that provides a governmental function, activity
or service such as libraries, landscape and maintenance facilities,
community centers, parking structures, and other public service facilities.
"LEED"
shall mean the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) Green Building Rating System developed by the United States
Green Building Council.

All new public buildings or additions to public buildings of
ten thousand square feet or more, or public building tenant improvement
and major remodel projects (as defined in Title 19) of ten thousand
square feet or more, shall achieve the LEED-Gold level at a minimum.
All other buildings receiving public funding from the City of West
Hollywood are strongly encouraged to achieve the LEED-Gold level.
