Regular meetings of the city council shall be held at City Hall, Council Chambers, One Civic Center Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, California 91011. The day and time of regular meetings shall be established by resolution of the city council. From time to time, meetings of the city council may be held at Lanterman Auditorium, 4491 Cornishon Avenue, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011, or such other place as the city council may designate.

City councilmembers shall be paid a salary in an amount not to exceed $300 per month, and shall, in addition, receive the same benefits as are made available to the city employees and paid for by the city.

A. 
Effective 2022, general municipal elections of the city of La Cañada Flintridge shall be held on the date of the statewide primary election of each even-numbered year.
B. 
The terms of office of those members of the city council whose terms would previously have expired in March 2022, shall instead, continue in their offices until certification of the results and administration of oaths of office following the June 2022 general municipal election.

Upon determination by the city council that a vacancy has occurred in the office of the city council, the city council shall within 30 days take one of the following actions:
A. 
Call a special election to fill a vacancy. The date of the special election shall be determined as provided by Section 36512 of the Government Code. A person elected to fill a vacancy holds office for the unexpired term of the former incumbent; or
B. 
Appoint a person to fill a vacancy on the city council. A person appointed to fill a vacancy shall hold office for the unexpired term of the former incumbent.
