A. 
There is hereby adopted by reference, except as hereinafter provided, that certain Electrical Code known and designated as the 2022 California Electrical Code. Such code shall become the Electrical Code of the City regulating the installation, arrangement, alteration, repair, use, and operation of electrical wiring, connections, fixtures, and other electrical appliances on premises within the City and providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefor.
B. 
One copy of said 2022 California Electrical Code has been deposited in the office of the City Clerk and shall be at all times maintained by the Clerk for use and examination by the public.
C. 
Said edition of the 2022 California Electrical Code, except as hereinafter amended, is the Electrical Code of the City as set forth in this chapter.

Whenever any of the following names or terms are used in the Los Angeles County Electrical Code, each such name or term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it in this section as follows:
Building and Safety Division of the Department of County Engineer Facilities.
The Building Department of the City.
Chief Electrical Inspector.
The City Building Official.
County, County of Los Angeles or unincorporated areas of the County of Los Angeles.
The City of Paramount.
Special inspector.
A person holding a valid certificate of registration as special inspector issued by the County as set forth in Section 82-14(a) of the Los Angeles County Electrical Code.

Section 82-8, Electrical code is amended to read as follows:
Fees. Any person desiring a permit required by this Code shall, at the time of filing an application therefor, pay a fee as established by resolution of the Paramount City Council.
