Arborist
means a person certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. The Town will maintain a list of arborists working in this area.
Hedge
means and includes any plant material, shrub, or plant when planted in a dense, continuous line or area so as to form a thicket or barrier.
Heritage Oak
55 means any tree of the genus quercus, including, but not limited to, Valley Oak (Quercus lobata), California Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia), Black Oak (Quercus kelloggii) and Blue Oak (Quercus douglasii) that has a trunk or multiple trunk 36 inches in circumference (approximately 12 inches in diameter) at a point four feet above the root crown.
Heritage tree
means any tree that, due to age, size, location, visibility, historic nature, or other unique attribute, has been deemed by the Town to be a heritage tree and accordingly deserves special consideration for preservation and protection.
Park
means and includes any park designated as such by a resolution of the Council and in actual existence or to be created
Person
mean any individual, firm, association, or corporation and the agents, employees, or representatives thereof.
Plant
means and includes all plant materials, non-woody, annual, or perennial in nature, but not necessarily hardy.
Public place
means and include all grounds, other than streets or parks, owned by or leased to and under the control of the Town.
Shrub
means and include any woody perennial plant, normally low, several-stemmed, and adaptable to shaping, trimming, and pruning without injury within the area planted.
Street
means and includes all land lying between the boundaries of property abutting on all public streets, boulevards, alleys, and walks.
Street tree
means and include any woody perennial plant having a single main axis or stem commonly achieving 10 feet in height and capable of shaping and pruning to develop a branch-free trunk at least nine feet in height.
Street tree, shrub, or plant
means and includes any tree, shrub, or plant in any street, park. or public place in the Town.
Weed
means and include any form of vegetation not a cultivated garden tract or lawn and growing to a height of six inches or more and any form of obnoxious, harmful, or dangerous plant life.
