The County Executive is the chief executive officer of the County with the powers and duties set forth in the Charter. The County Executive shall be responsible for overseeing the operations of the various agencies and departments of County government subject to any limitations set forth in the Charter and State law.

The Board of Supervisors may by ordinance establish, as authorized by Section 15(l) of the Charter, groups of departments or lesser organizational units, which perform similar or related functions or services. Administrators of any such group established by the Board of Supervisors may include, among their titles, Deputy County Executive.
