The Office of Sealer of Weights and Measures is consolidated with the Office of Agricultural Commissioner.

Consolidation became effective on October 1, 1953.
The Agricultural Commissioner is vested with, and shall exercise all the powers and authority of a sealer of weights and measures in addition to his or her duties as Agricultural Commissioner.

The Agricultural Commissioner in his or her capacity as the sealer of weights and measures, and his or her duly authorized agents, shall have the authority and immunities of public officers as set forth in Section 12013 of the Business and Professions Code to make arrests without a warrant whenever he or she has reasonable cause to believe that the person to be arrested has committed a misdemeanor in his or her presence which is in violation of any provision of Division 5 and Division 8, Chapters 5, 7, 10 and 11 of the Business and Professions Code wherein he or she has the authority to enforce, or any section of this code, or any ordinance or statute which he or she has the authority to enforce.
