Pursuant to the authority granted by Section 51501 of the Government Code of the state, the duties of city tax assessment and collection performed by the city tax assessor and tax collector are hereby transferred to the tax assessor and collector of the county of Los Angeles.

The offices of the city tax assessor and collector are hereby abolished. All other duties of city tax collection, other than those transferred pursuant to Section 51507 of the Government Code, as set forth in Section 2.32.010, shall be performed by the city clerk under the direction of the city manager, if there be one, and if not, under the direction of the city council.
