A.
The city council of the city of Pico Rivera hereby adopts the 2021 Edition of the International Property Maintenance Code, as published by the International Code Council, as Chapter 15 of Title 15 of this code, except such portions as are deleted, modified, or amended as set forth in this chapter. Said code is adopted and incorporated as if fully set forth herein.
B.
The
purpose of this code is to establish minimum requirements to provide
a reasonable level of health, safety, property protection and general
welfare insofar as they are affected by the continued occupancy and
maintenance of structures and premises. Existing structures and premises
that do not comply with these provisions shall be altered or repaired
to provide a reasonable minimum level of health, safety and general
welfare as required herein.

Maintenance Code is hereby deleted and replaced by the following:
