A. The Transportation Engineer shall establish, designate and maintain crosswalks, by appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway, where he or she determines that there is a particular hazard to pedestrians crossing the roadway subject to the limitation contained in subsection
B of this section.
B. Other
than crosswalks at intersections, no crosswalk shall be established
in any block which is less than 400 feet in length. Elsewhere not
more than one additional crosswalk shall be established in any one
block and such crosswalk shall be located as nearly as practicable
at midblock.
C. The
Transportation Engineer may place signs at or adjacent to an intersection
in respect to any crosswalk directing that pedestrians shall not cross
in the crosswalk so indicated.

No pedestrian shall cross a roadway other than at a crosswalk
in the Central Traffic District or in any business district.

Upon request of the City commission or department having jurisdiction
over a particular parcel of City property, the Chief of Police may
designate portions of the City property for pedestrian traffic, and
may prohibit such uses of the property as are deemed inconsistent
with pedestrian traffic. When areas have been so designated by the
Chief of Police, the City Transportation Engineer shall cause signs
to be erected giving notice of such designation and enumerating those
uses of the property which are prohibited. When areas have been so
designated and appropriate signs erected, it shall be unlawful for
any person to use such area in the manner prohibited.
