The Airport Director shall be responsible for the enforcement of the provisions of this title.

The Airport Director, and those employees of the Airport Department charged by the Airport Director with enforcement duties, are authorized to issue written notices to appear as provided in Chapter 1.20 of this code, of Section 853.6 of the California Penal Code, and to issue notices of illegal parking as provided in Section 40202 of the California Vehicle Code.

The Patrol Supervisor and Airport Patrol Officers may carry firearms while engaged in the performance of their duties. Prior to carrying firearms, the Patrol Supervisor and all Airport Patrol Officers must satisfactorily complete a course of training in the carrying and use of firearms which meets the minimum standards prescribed by the Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training. The purpose and intent of the authorization to carry firearms provided in this section is to provide a means of self-defense or defense of others. The use and handling of such weapons shall comply in all respects with all applicable policies, rules and regulations.

The violation of any provision of this title is a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed the sum of $1,000.00, or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
