The purpose of this chapter is to establish a Stop Sign Warrant Policy, which would allow the city to facilitate the following process as it pertains to stop signs in the administrative level:
A.
Accepting and handling stop sign warrant requests; and
B.
Approving or denying stop sign warrant requests; and
C.
Appealing of the city's determination on whether to initiate a warrant or install new stop sign intersection(s).
The city is authorized to enact such traffic controls through its general police powers and the California Vehicle Code Section 21101. |
The city's position and principles regarding stop sign warrants and the installation of stop sign(s) are embodied within the Stop Sign Warrant Policy sections entitled "Purpose" and "Applicability." |
