No person shall consume any alcoholic beverages as defined in
Business and Professions Code Section 23004, from time to time amended
or supplemented, on any public street, or alley, or public sidewalk,
public or private parking lot, public restroom, public pier, public
beach, vacant lot, or public park. Violation of this chapter is a
misdemeanor or infraction.

The city council of the city of Crescent City may, by resolution,
exempt certain portions of the public property and right-of-way within
the city limits from the provisions of this chapter in order to accommodate
special events. The city manager or designee is authorized to issue
permits for the consumption of alcoholic beverages in otherwise prohibited
areas upon the payment of the permit fee.
