This title is adopted to supplement and implement the Subdivision
Map Act and may be cited as the "Subdivision Ordinance of the City
of Crescent City."

The planning commission of the city, hereinafter referred to
as the planning commission, is designated as the advisory agency with
respect to subdivisions as provided in the Subdivision Map Act.

The planning commission shall have all the powers and duties
with respect to tentative and final maps, and the procedures relating
thereto which are specified by law and by this chapter.

It is unlawful for any individual, firm, association, syndicate,
co-partnership, corporation, trust, or any other legal entity, as
a principal, agent or otherwise, to offer to sell, to contract to
sell, or to sell any subdivision of land or any part thereof in the
city, unless and until all of the requirements provided in this title
have been complied with.

If the proposed subdivision or lot split lies within, or partly within, the coastal zone as identified in Title
17, a coastal development permit shall also be required pursuant to the requirements of Chapter
17.84.
