The following signs are permitted in the town's rights-of-way, subject to obtaining the required permits and subject to the regulations listed as to size and number of signs:
(a)
Temporary signs. Temporary signs shall only be displayed in town's right-of-way during daylight hours. Any snow event shall require immediate removal a temporary sign;
(b)
Freestanding signs. The maximum height of a freestanding sign is seven feet. The area of a freestanding sign shall not exceed 10 square feet;
(c)
Banners. All banners shall be a maximum of 36 square feet, shall have a minimum clearance of at least 15 feet above a vehicular right-of-way and eight feet above a pedestrian walkway, and shall be maintained in good repair and safe condition. If a banner is to be used in successive years a permit shall be required each calendar year;
(d)
Sandwich board signs. Sandwich board signs shall not exceed eight square feet per side. Sandwich board signs shall be treated as temporary signs for display and removal purposes.
