Title 15, Vehicles and Traffic, Division 1, Traffic Code of the Los Angeles County Code, as amended and in effect on July 16, 1991, is adopted as the traffic ordinance of the city of Malibu.
A copy of the traffic ordinance has been deposited in the office of the city clerk, and shall be at all times maintained by the clerk for use and examination by the public.

A. 
Any person violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter, except as provided in subsections B through F of this section, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable for the first offense by a fine of not to exceed $50, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding five days; for a second violation within a period of one year, by a fine of not to exceed $100, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 10 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; for a third and each additional offense committed within one year, by a fine of not exceeding $1,000, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
B. 
Whenever reckless driving of a vehicle prohibited by Section 15.28.010, Division l of the traffic code, proximately causes bodily injury to any person, the person so driving such vehicle shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for not less than 30 days nor more than six months or by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) dollars, or by both.
C. 
In any case where a jail sentence is not imposed, where the jail sentence is less than two days, or if the jail sentence is suspended in whole or in part, a fine shall be imposed for a violation of Division 1 in not less than the following amounts:
1. 
In any case, one dollar ($1.00);
2. 
When it is necessary to issue a notice to the violator, $2;
3. 
If it is necessary to issue a warrant to bring the violator into court, $10.
D. 
Any violation of any of the provisions of Chapter 15.84, Division 2 of the traffic code, by any person, firm or corporation shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $5.
E. 
Any person violating any provision of Section 15.64.121 of Division 1 or Chapter 15.88 of Division 2 of the traffic code, is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($l,000.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed six months or by both such fine and imprisonment.
F. 
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of Chapter 15.92 of Division 2 of the traffic code, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding $50, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 25 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
