Except as hereinafter provided, Title 30, Residential Code, of the Los Angeles County Code, incorporating Sections 102 through 119 of Chapter 1, Section 1207 of Chapter 12, Chapters 67, 68, 69, 98, 99 and Appendix J of Title 26 of the Los Angeles County Code and adopting Chapters 2 through 10, Chapter 44, and Appendices H, Q, S, and X of the California Residential Code, 2022 Edition, is adopted herein by reference as if fully set forth below, and shall be known the residential code of the city of Malibu.
In the event of any conflict between provisions of the California Residential Code, 2022 Edition, Title 30 of the Los Angeles County Code, or any amendment to the residential code contained in the Malibu Municipal Code, the provision contained in the later listed document shall control.
A copy of Title 30 of the Los Angeles County Code and the California Residential Code, 2022 Edition, have been deposited in the office of the city clerk of the city of Malibu and shall be at all times maintained by the city clerk for use and examination by the public.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 15.28.010, the definitions in Section 15.04.020 are adopted by reference and incorporated into this chapter as if fully set forth herein.

Fees are as established by the current city of Malibu fee schedule.

Every person violating any provision of the Title 30 of the Los Angeles County Code and appendices, adopted by reference by Section 15.28.010, or of any permit or license granted thereunder, or any rules or regulations promulgated pursuant thereto, is guilty of a misdemeanor. Upon conviction thereof he or she shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $1,000 or imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The imposition of such penalty for any violation shall not excuse the violation or permit it to continue. Each day that a violation occurs shall constitute a separate offense.
