The following definitions apply unless inconsistent with the
context:
"City parking lot no. 1",
the lot on the west side of N 2nd Avenue and north of Lincoln
Street also known as the Lincoln Lot.
All parking spaces in parking lots that are not rented will
be metered or reserved. All metered spaces are subject to a maximum
parking time of 10 consecutive hours.
Except on Sundays and legal holidays, it is unlawful to park
or leave a vehicle in a metered parking space in city parking lots
unless the adjacent meter has been activated or is immediately activated
by the deposit of accepted currency of the United States according
to directions on the meter.
The manager will collect all currency deposited in parking meters.
All currency collected from parking meters will be deposited in the
off-street parking account.
It is unlawful to deposit slugs, tokens, or other objects or
substances other than United States currency in the parking meters.
It is unlawful to damage, break, molest or tamper with any parking
meter.
Any unintentional violation of any provision of this subchapter
by reason of a mechanical failure of a parking meter is not an offense
within the meaning of this subchapter.
At the end of each year, the FC will review the effectiveness
of the use of these funds and make a recommendation regarding the
continuation of the program to the council for its consideration.
