It shall be unlawful for any person to live, sleep or reside in the city, except in buildings conforming to the building, electrical and plumbing codes of the city and the health and sanitation laws of the state and city, and except in those instances provided in this chapter for the issuance permits for auto trailers comply with Chapters 68 and 69 of the building code of the city when the same is applicable.

As used in this chapter:
"Quonset hut"
means a semi-circular or elliptical-shaped structure having steel or wooden ribs with metal or composition covering, commonly referred to as a Quonset hut.
"Tent"
means any shelter of canvas, skins, rubberized materials, plastics, etc., stretched over a pole or poles or the like usually by means of ropes or wires fastened to pegs or other stationary objects or frames and used for living or sleeping purposes.

It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, construct, move in or otherwise build in the city for any purpose, a Quonset hut, box car, tent or street car unless same is authorized by a conditional use permit.

Nothing in this chapter shall be deemed to prohibit minors from using tents for sleeping purposes; provide, however, such use shall be limited to fourteen consecutive days during any three-month period and shall be restricted for recreational or scouting activities in rear yards or lots used exclusively for residential purposes.
