For the purposes of this chapter, unless otherwise apparent from the context, certain words and phrases used in this chapter are defined in this article.

Whenever any words or phrases used in this chapter are not defined in this article but are defined in the Vehicle Code of the State, such definitions are incorporated in this article and shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases when used in this chapter.

"Alley" shall mean any street less than twenty-five (25′) feet in width between property lines.

"Loading zone" shall mean the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials.

"Parkway" shall mean that portion of a street other than a roadway or sidewalk.

"Passenger loading zone" shall mean the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers.

"Railroad train" shall mean a locomotive, engine, or any propelling device, with or without cars coupled thereto, or one or more railroad cars, whether coupled with or detached from such locomotive, engine, or propelling device, operated upon rails used for interurban, suburban, intrastate, or interstate traffic, but not including streetcars.

"Sidewalk" shall mean that portion of a highway, other than the roadway, set apart for pedestrian travel and shall mean any portion of the sidewalk between the property line and the curb.
