This Property Maintenance Code of the City of Marshfield, as supplemented, contains ordinances up to and including Ordinance, passed on December 15, 2020. Ordinances of the City adopted after said ordinance supersede the provisions of this code to the extent that they are in conflict or inconsistent therewith. Consult the Development Services Department in order to ascertain whether any particular provision of the Code has been amended, superseded or repealed.
The City of Marshfield has adopted the 2015 International Property Maintenance Code subject to certain specific modifications: https://codes.iccsafe.org/content/IPMC2015. The 2015 International Property Maintenance Code as modified is intended to apply to all property within the city. The language of the 2015 International Property Maintenance Code shall be modified for application by the City as follows:
The following sections of the 2015 International Property Maintenance Code are hereby revised for the City of Marshfield:
A.
All sections that refer to the “International Residential Code,” shall be revised to say the “Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code”.
B.
All sections that refer to the “International Plumbing Code,” shall be revised to say “SPS 382”.
C.
All sections that refer to the “International Zoning Code,” shall be revised to say “City of Marshfield’s Zoning Code”.
D.
All sections that refer to the “Board of Appeals,” shall be revised to say the “Zoning Board of Appeals”.
E.
The following sections of this document entitled the “International Property Maintenance Code” are amended as follows:

Section 101.1 - Insert: City of Marshfield.

Section 102.3 - Replace “International Zoning Code” with: City of Marshfield’s Municipal Code.

Section 103 - Replace Section Title “Department of Property Maintenance Inspection” with: Development Services Department.

Section 103.1 - Replace with: General. The Development Services Department shall be responsible for enforcing and conducting all required inspections pertaining to this code.

The owner, owner’s authorized agent, operator or occupant of building, premises or equipment deemed unsafe by the code official shall abate or cause to be abated or corrected such unsafe conditions either by repair, rehabilitation, or by razing per section 110.

Section 110 - Replace Section Title “Demolition” with: Razing Buildings.

All residential exterior and interior stairs, ramps, decks and balconies that exceed 24 inches in height shall meet the requirements of SPS 321.04, 321.042 and 321.045.

Chapter 6: Mechanical and Electrical Requirements.
a.
Section 602.2 - Replace with: Residential occupancies. Dwellings shall be provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room temperature of 68 degrees F in all habitable room, bathrooms and toilet rooms based on the winter outdoor design temperature for the locality indicated in Appendix A of SPS 323.02(1).
b.
Section 602.3 - Insert Dates: Nov. 1 – April 15th.

5.
Chapter 7: Fire Safety Requirements.
a.
