Town of Harwinton, CT Chapter 270 Public Lands, Use of

§ 270-1 Definitions.

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

AUTHORIZED EVENT

An event authorized in writing by an officer or agent of either the Harwinton Board of Selectmen, the Harwinton Conservation Commission, the Harwinton Recreation Commission or the Regional 10 Board of Education.

PUBLIC LANDS

All property located within the Town of Harwinton which is owned or regulated by the Town of Harwinton, the Harwinton Conservation Commission, the Harwinton Recreation Commission, or the Regional 10 Board of Education.

§ 270-2 Hours.

All public lands shall be open to the public only from sunrise to one hour after sunset daily, or for attendance at authorized events.

§ 270-3 Alcoholic beverages.

Alcoholic beverages may neither be possessed nor consumed on public lands, unless permitted in writing at an authorized event.

§ 270-4 Motor vehicles.

Motor vehicles shall park on public lands only in areas specially designated for that use. No private motor vehicles, including motorcycles and snowmobiles, shall be used on public lands without written permission from the officer or public official in charge of the property.

§ 270-5 Penalties for offenses.

Any person violating this chapter shall be fined in an amount not to exceed $100 for each offense.

§ 270-6 Hunting and trapping.

Hunting and trapping shall be prohibited on public lands except with written permission from the regulating authority for that particular piece of property.
