Pursuant to the provisions of § 7-148(c)(6)(C)(v) and § 7-163a of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut, Revised to 1997, as amended, the Town of Harwinton hereby adopts the following article regulating private snow removal.

For purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
Have the same definition as set forth in § 13a-1 of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended.
That portion of the highway between the boundaries of the highway and the paved or traveled portion of the highway.
That area adjacent to the highway or street intended for pedestrian use.
No person shall plow or throw or cause to be plowed or thrown any snow or ice from any premises on or into any state or municipal highway, street, shoulder or sidewalk in the Town of Harwinton, in such manner as to cause inconvenience or hazard to public travel.
Any person who violates this article shall be guilty of an infraction and shall be fined $50 for each violation.
