This article is adopted pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes §§ 9-1, 9-168a(a), 9-168b, and 9-289 as amended by P.A. No. 07-194, § 29,[1] as implemented by the written opinion of the Registrars of Voters dated March 7, 2008, and the authorization of the Secretary of the State acting by the Elections Officer, Legislative and Elections Administration Division, dated March 18, 2008, in order to comply with the new polling place requirements to implement the new method of voting pursuant to the Help America Vote Act of 2002, P.L. 107-252, 42 U.S.C. § 15301 et seq.[2]

The polling place for the 8th and 31st Senatorial Districts for purposes of all state elections held in the even-numbered years shall be in the Assembly Hall of the Harwinton Town Hall, 100 Bentley Drive, Harwinton, Connecticut, on separate sides of the Assembly Hall as divided and designated by the Registrars of Voters, each polling place to be clearly marked as such with appropriate signs and to have its own waiting area designated outside the Assembly Hall.
