A. 
It shall be unlawful for any owner, tenants or occupants of any real property located in the Town of Delmar to fail to remove all snow and ice from all sidewalks abutting said property in said Town within 24 hours from the time the accumulation thereof has ceased.
B. 
In the event snow and ice on a sidewalk has become so hard that it cannot be removed without the likelihood of damage to the sidewalk, the person responsible for its removal shall, within the time requirements of this section, have enough sand or other abrasive put on the sidewalk to make travel thereon reasonably safe. Snow and ice shall then be removed as soon as it can be accomplished without the likelihood of damage to the sidewalk.
Any violation of this article shall be punishable as a municipal infraction. A fine of $50 may be imposed for each violation of this article. A fine of $100 may be imposed for a second violation of this article. Each day a violation continues shall be deemed a separate municipal infraction.
