Conflict of interest. An individual shall not have an interest, financial or other, in an electrical business while employed by the state, a county, or a local government as an Electrical Inspector. An official or employee connected with the Department of Inspections, Licenses and Permits, except one whose only connection is that of a member of the Board of Appeals, established under the provisions of Appendix B of Chapter
82 of the Harford County Code, a member of the Harford County Electrical Board, shall not be engaged in outside employment nor compensated in any manner, directly or indirectly, involving the furnishing of labor, materials or appliances for the construction, alteration or maintenance of a building, or the preparation of construction documents thereof, nor shall such official or employee engage in any work that conflicts with the interest of the Department.
