A.
City offices and activities shall remain open and in operation during established working hours. All employees should make every attempt to report for work on a timely basis during emergency conditions. If employees are unable to report to work, the following criteria shall apply:
1.
The employee is responsible for contacting his/her supervisor by telephone to indicate anticipated absence from work or late arrival to work and the reason.
2.
If an employee is unable to report to work during these conditions, the absence may be charged as vacation or personal leave, or the employee may elect to take this time off without pay.
3.
The Mayor is authorized to close City offices to protect the safety and welfare of City employees. In this event employees will receive full pay, and no vacation or personal leave allowances shall be affected.

All employees will be expected to record their time each pay period on City-approved forms. Employees shall accurately account for all time worked. Time sheets shall be available for inspection by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.

One-half (1/2) hour lunch unpaid and two (2) paid breaks of fifteen (15) minutes per eight (8) hour shift.

Tardiness and payroll are figured on six (6) minute integrals. Actual time worked must be recorded on time clock.

Habitual lateness is discouraged and can negatively affect an employee's appraisals and be considered grounds for termination.

Falsification of time records for payroll purposes is reason for disciplinary action including possible termination of employment.
