No person shall canvass, solicit, throw, deposit or distribute any commercial or noncommercial handbill upon any private premises, if requested by the owner or occupant not to do so, or if there is placed on the premises in a conspicuous position near the entrance a sign bearing the words: "No Trespassing," "No Peddlers or Agents," "No Advertising," "No Canvassing or Soliciting," or any other words to a similar effect. No person shall canvass or solicit in the Town except in relation to noncommercial purposes without first having filled out an application form and offered sufficient identification in the form of a driver's license or other suitable picture identification with the Select Board.
