The Middletown Virginia Code Official is designated as the enforcing official for building maintenance and the Town adopts the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Maintenance Code as its own, with the updates and revisions that take place from time to time as if enacted herein, mutatis mutandis.

The Middletown Code Official is designated as the individual appointed by Frederick County Virginia as its Building Maintenance Code Official, mutatis mutandis.

The Frederick County Board of Building Appeals is hereby designated as the Appeals Board to hear appeals arising from the application of the provision of the Building Maintenance Code.
The Code Official shall establish such procedures or requirements as may be necessary for administration and enforcement of this chapter. The procedures are to be approved by the Middletown Town Council.

Any person, firm or corporation who or which shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable as provided in § 36-106 of the Code of Virginia.
