The Town Council shall elect a Clerk, who shall be elected at its first meeting in January following November Council elections, and shall hold the office for a term of two years, unless sooner removed for cause. Any vacancy occurring in their term of office shall be filled by the Council for the unexpired term.

A.
The Clerk shall be Clerk of the Town Council; shall issue notices to each of the Councilors in case of a called meeting; shall attend all meetings of the Council and keep a complete record of transactions.

The Clerk shall keep a minute record of all petitions presented, all motions made or resolutions or ordinances introduced, and referred to committee, and the final action thereon when the report of the committee is made.
C.
The Clerk shall keep all official bonds and contracts taken by order of the Council, and shall take charge of and carefully preserve all books, papers, records and other documents of the Town that are not specially placed in the keeping of other officers. The Clerk shall prepare all tax bills when the same are due for the use of the Tax Collector. The Clerk shall deposit to the credit of the Treasurer of the Town, in such bank as they may be directed by the Council, all money collected through the office or other funds coming into their hands belonging to the Town.
The Clerk of the Council shall be paid a monthly salary as established by Town Council.
