There is hereby adopted, except so far as in conflict with the provisions of this Code and other ordinances of the Town, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations concerning plumbing facilities in buildings and structures in the Town, the State Plumbing Code of the State Board of Health, effective July 1, 1959, as amended, and such State Plumbing Code, as amended, is hereby incorporated herein as a part of this chapter to the same extent and purpose as though said code were herein fully set out at length, and the provisions thereof shall control the construction, alteration, addition or repair to any building or other structure within the Town, and the performance of any electrical or plumbing work there, provided that:
A.
Depth of building sewer and water service (outside of building). Sewers and water service piping shall be installed below the lowest recorded frost penetration, and in no case shall there be less than 30 inches of earth cover over sewers and less than 30 inches of earth cover over water service piping.
B.
Backflow prevention. All commercial water shall be protected by a testable double backflow prevention device which shall be tested on a yearly basis by a certified backflow inspector at the cost of the owner. Yearly reports are to be sent to the Town office.
