Eligibility. Except as specifically allowed by other Charter provisions, eligibility for service on standing boards, committees, or as elected officials of the Town shall be limited to qualified voters of at least 18 years of age who have been a resident for at least one year prior to the election of office and who remains a resident during such service. Following the transition period as covered by Section 304, no person shall serve on more than one elected board or committee, and no more than one person from an immediate family shall serve on the same elected board or committee.

Election. Except as specified by other Charter provisions, all positions shall be filled by nomination and election by ballot at the Annual Town Meeting. Nominations shall be from the floor. Election shall be by majority of votes cast. If no majority is attained among three or more candidates, runoff election shall be made between the two leading candidates. Candidates who wish may post their intentions to run for Town office and do so at the Town office.
c.
Terms. Election to board and committee positions, including alternates, shall be for staggered three-year terms. Each position shall be a separate position and be so indicated in the warrant article. Terms shall be in full effect starting July 1.
d.
Swearing in. All elected and appointed officers of the Town shall be sworn in by the Town Clerk prior to the first day in office.
e.
Bonding. All officials trusted with the collection, custody or disbursement of any monies of the Town shall be bonded at Town expense for amounts at least equal to the potential liability, as arranged by the Board of Selectmen.
f.
Vacancies and replacements. In the event of a resignation, forfeiture, death, incapacity or vacancy for any other reason authorized by law, a temporary replacement to fill out the year shall be made by the alternate where such is available, or otherwise through election by the remaining members of the committee or board, and approved by the Board of Selectmen. The Board of Selectmen shall appoint a replacement for individual officials.
