A. Described.
1. The
official seal of the city shall be two inches in diameter with an
inner ring one and seven-sixteenths inches in diameter.
2. Between
the outer and inner rings is the following wording: *REVERE* CHELSEA
1739* NO. CHELSEA 1846* A TOWN 1871*.
3. Within
the inner ring at top is the following wording: "A CITY 1915." Below
are the rays of the sun, surrounding the outstretched arm with drawn
sword. A shield is beneath with a figure of Paul Revere mounted on
horseback. The heavens above the figure show stars and moon.
4. The
shield is flanked on either side with devices emblematic of the sea
and farm.
B. Custodian.
The city clerk shall be the official custodian of the city seal.
Custodian Responsibilities. The duties, obligations, responsibilities,
and functions which vest in the Secretary of State relating to the
Great Seal of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts pursuant to 950 cmr
34.00 are hereby adopted and vest in the city clerk, as custodian
of the city seal, to the extent that said duties, obligations, responsibilities
and functions shall apply to the city seal.
