No person shall move a building in a public street or way without
a permit from the superintendent of public works to be granted upon
such terms as in his or her opinion the public safety and convenience
may require. For the purpose of this chapter, a modular home shall
be considered a building.

All applicants for the permit required by Section
15.12.010 shall state the location from and that to which the building is to be removed, its length, width and height, and the principal material of which it is constructed, and shall definitely describe the route over which it is to be moved, the length of time required to move it and whether any shade trees or branches thereof will have to be removed and, if any, the location thereof, and such application shall be accompanied by the certificate of the city engineer approving the desired route.

In all cases where a permit has been granted for the moving
of a building as provided in this chapter, the moving of which will
necessitate the temporary interruption of electric, telephone or cable
television services by any corporation authorized to maintain the
same in the city, the person or corporation applying to move said
building shall, before any such building is moved from its location,
notify such corporation of the granting of the permit. Prior to the
moving of the building, the person or corporation moving the building
shall be required to give notice by certified mail, return receipt
requested, at least ten days in advance of the move to all persons
whose telephone, electric or cable television service will be temporarily
interrupted advising said persons of the date, time and duration of
the interruption. Notice shall also be given to the police chief and
fire chief.

No person shall move any building under the provisions of this
chapter until that person has given a bond to the city in such sum
as the superintendent of public works may deem necessary, to save
harmless and indemnify the city from all damages which may occur by
such moving. Such bond shall be filed with the superintendent of public
works before the permit is granted.

No person moving a building as provided in this chapter shall
remove any shade tree in a street, or any branch thereof, except by
permission of the superintendent of public works.
