(a) 
No person shall turn a vehicle at an intersection unless the vehicle is in proper position upon the roadway as required in section 21-90, or turn a vehicle to enter a private road or driveway or otherwise turn a vehicle from a direct course or move right or left upon a roadway unless such movement can be made with safety. No person shall turn any vehicle without giving an appropriate signal in the manner provided in this article, in the event that any other traffic may be affected by such movement.
(b) 
A signal of intention to turn right or left where required shall be given continuously during not less than the last one hundred (100) feet traveled by the vehicle before turning.
(c) 
No person shall stop or suddenly decrease the speed of a vehicle without first giving an appropriate signal in the manner provided in this article to the driver of any vehicle immediately to the rear when there is opportunity to give such signals.
(d) 
The signal lamps provided for in this article shall be used to indicate an intention to turn, change lanes or start from a parked position and shall not be flashed on a moving vehicle as a courtesy or "do pass" signal to operators of other vehicles approaching from the rear.

The driver of a vehicle intending to turn at an intersection shall do so as follows:
(a) 
Both the approach for a right turn and a right turn shall be made as close as practical to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway.
(b) 
Approach for a left turn shall be made in that portion of the right half of the roadway nearest the center line thereof and after entering the intersection the left turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection to the right of the center line of the roadway being entered.
(c) 
Approach for a left turn from a two-way street into a one-way street shall be made in the left turn lane or if none, in that portion of the right half of the roadway nearest the center line thereof and by passing to the right of such center line where it enters the intersection. Approach for a left turn from a one-way street into a two-way street shall be made in that portion of the roadway nearest to the left-hand curb or edge of the roadway and by passing to the right of the center line of the street being entered upon leaving the intersection, unless directed otherwise by a police officer or traffic sign, marker or buttons.
(d) 
Where both streets or roadways are one-way, both the approach for a left turn and a left turn shall be made as close as practicable to the left-hand curb or edge of the roadway.
(e) 
At the following described intersection turns shall be made as follows and signs so indicating shall be posted. Vehicles in the lane nearest the left-hand curb or edge of the roadway shall turn left only and shall not be authorized to proceed directly across the intersection and said left turn shall be made as close as practicable to the left-hand curb or edge of the roadway. Vehicles in the next lane nearest the left-hand curb or edge of the roadway may turn left or proceed directly forward but shall not make a right turn. Vehicles in the lane nearest the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway shall turn right only and shall not be authorized to proceed directly across the intersection, said right turn shall be made as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway. Signs indicating turns as provided above shall be posted at:
(1) 
North and south service roads of Carpenter Freeway West (State Highway 183) for east and west bound traffic at the intersections:
a. 
Story Road.
b. 
MacArthur Boulevard.
c. 
O'Connor Road.
(2) 
East and west service roads of Walton Walker Boulevard (State Highway Loop 12) for north and south bound traffic at the intersection of State Highway 356.
(f) 
At the following described intersections, when signs are erected giving notice that the right lane must turn right, the driver of a vehicle in the lane nearest the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway shall turn right only and shall not be authorized to proceed directly across the intersection; said right-hand turn shall be made as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway. Signs indicating "Right Lane Must Turn Right" shall be posted [on the designated street] at the following intersections:

Any stop or turn signal when required in this article shall be given either by means of the hand and arm or by a signal lamp or mechanical signal device of a type approved by the department of public safety of this state, but when a vehicle is so constructed or loaded that a hand and arm signal would not be visible both to the front and rear of such vehicle then such signal shall be given by such a lamp or signal device.

All signals required by this article given by hand and arm shall be given from the left side of the vehicle in the following manner and such signals shall indicate as follows:
(a) 
Left turn.
Hand and arm extended horizontally.
(b) 
Right turn.
Hand and arm extended upward.
(c) 
Stop or decrease speed.
Hand and arm extended downward.

No driver of a vehicle shall turn so as to proceed in the opposite direction where sight restriction is such that the section of highway being traversed lies within a no-passing zone as determined and marked in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
