Pursuant to the Uniform Fire Safety Act (N.J.S.A. 52:27D-192 et seq.) the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code (N.J.A.C. 5:70 et seq.) shall be locally enforced in the Township.
The LEA shall enforce the Uniform Fire Safety Act and the codes/regulations adopted under it in all buildings, structures and premises within the established boundaries of the Township, in other than owner-occupied one- and two-family and attached single-family dwellings used exclusively for dwelling purposes, and buildings, structures, and premises owned or operated by the federal government, interstate agencies or the State of New Jersey. The LEA shall faithfully comply with the requirements of the Uniform Fire Safety Act and the Uniform Fire Code.
The LEA established by § 122-2 shall be a part of the Division of Fire of the Township. The LEA shall be under the direct supervision/control of the Fire Official.
A. 
Appointment of Fire Official. The LEA shall be under the direct supervision of the Fire Official, who shall be qualified pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:71-4.3.
B. 
Term of office. The Fire Official shall serve under the direction of the Director of Public Safety and/or the Chief of the Division of Fire. The Fire Official may be removed for cause in accordance with law.
C. 
Inspectors and employees. Such inspectors and other employees as may be necessary in the LEA shall be appointed by the governing body upon the recommendation of the Chief of the Division of Fire and/or the Fire Official.
D. 
Removal from office. Inspectors and other employees of the LEA shall be subject to removal by the governing body for inefficiency or misconduct. Each inspector or employee to be so removed shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard by the appointing authority or a designated hearing officer.
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:27D-206 and 52:27D-208 of the Uniform Fire Safety Act, any person aggrieved by any order of the LEA shall have the right to appeal to the Mercer County Construction Board of Appeals.
Pursuant to the Uniform Fire Safety Act and the regulations of the Department of Community Affairs, all buildings, structures and uses within the Township of Robbinsville, except for owner-occupied one- and two-family or attached single-family dwellings used exclusively for dwelling purposes, and buildings, structures, and premises owned or operated by the federal government, interstate agencies or the State of New Jersey, not classified as a life hazard use pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.4 et seq., shall be inspected for compliance with the Uniform Fire Code not less than once per year. Fees therefor shall be provided in § 109-10D.

A. 
Permits and fees. The permits and fees established by the Uniform Fire Code at N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.7 and 5:70-2.9, respectively, shall be collectible and payable to the Township in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.7 et seq. Fees therefor shall be provided in §§ 109-6 and 109-10.
