An ordinance of the Township of London Grove adopting the 2012 edition of the International Fire Code, regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises in the Township of London Grove; providing for the issuance of permits and collection fees therefor; repealing all other ordinances or parts of law in conflict therewith.

A certain document, one copy of which is on file in the Code Department of London Grove Township, being marked and designated as the International Fire Code, 2012 edition, including Appendix Chapters A-J, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the Township of London Grove, Chester County, in the State of Pennsylvania for regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Fire Prevention Code on file in the office of London Grove Township are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this ordinance, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any prescribed in section 3 of this ordinance.

The following sections are hereby revised, deleted or amended as follows:
1. 
Section 101.1 of the International Fire Code. These regulations shall be known as the London grove Township Fire Code, hereinafter referred to as "this code."
2. 
Section 109.4 of the International Fire Code. Violation Penalties. Persons who shall violate a Provision of this Code or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, install, alter, repair or do work in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the fire code official, or of a permit or certificate used under provisions of this Code, shall be guilty of a SUMMARY OFFENSE, punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs, or by imprisonment not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall constitute a separate offense.
3. 
Section 111.4 of the International Fire Code. Failure to Comply. Any person who shall continue any work after having been served with a stop work order, except such work as that person is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
4. 
Section 5806.2 of the International Fire Code. Limitations. Neither containers which have stored cryogenic fluids but have not been cleaned and purged nor cryogenic fluids shall be located within diked areas containing other hazardous materials. Storage of flammable cryogenic fluids outside of buildings is prohibited.
5. 
Section 6104.2 of the International Fire Code. Maximum Capacity within established limits. Within the limits established by law restricting the storage of liquefied petroleum gas for the protection of heavily populated or congested areas, the aggregate capacity of any one installation shall not exceed a water capacity of 2,000 gallons.
