The Board of Trustees has, by local law, adopted Article 19-a of the New York State General Municipal Law by reference thereto. The provisions of this chapter enable the Village to provide for the establishment or extension of business improvement districts within the Village, as set forth in said article.

The Village of Islandia Business Improvement District (BID) shall be and is hereby established in the Village of Islandia, subject to completion by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Islandia of those provisions of the referenced Article 19-a, the Village Board having found that the establishment of the district is in the public interest, and that all properties within the district will benefit from the establishment and that all properties benefited are included within the boundaries of the district. The included properties defining the district are as follows: included properties are as listed in 2024 Report, Plan and Map for the Business Improvement District for Islandia, and that the Business Improvement District shall have those powers set forth in General Municipal Law Article 19-a, including those powers referenced as retained by the legislative body.
