The term of office of the elective Supervisor of the Town of Marilla shall be four years. Such a four-year term shall commence on the first day of January following the first biennial Town election after the effective date of this article.
At the biennial Town election next following the effective date of this article and every four years thereafter, the Supervisor of the Town shall be elected for a term of four years.
This article shall supersede, in its application to the Town of Marilla, § 24 of the Town Law with respect to the term of office of the elective Supervisor.
This article shall be submitted for approval to the electors of the Town of Marilla at the next general Town election to be held on November 5, 2024 in the Town of Marilla.
Any other local law, ordinance, or resolution inconsistent herewith is hereby repealed.
This article shall take effect immediately upon filing with the New York State Secretary of State after approval by a majority of the electors voting thereon in accordance with the requirements with § 27 of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York.
