A. 
This chapter shall apply to all county officers and employees other than elected officers, temporary, part-time, and seasonal employees unless otherwise provided by law, applicable MOU, or resolution of the board.
B. 
All vacations shall be taken at such time or times as are approved by the department head or designee.

A. 
Employees may accrue up to the number of hours of vacation enumerated in the personnel manual provided that the earning and accumulation of vacation shall be subject to all applicable memoranda of understanding or is otherwise exempt. Employees may not earn vacation after they have accumulated the maximum number of allowed hours.
B. 
All vacation requests must be approved by the employee's department head or designee, balancing operational needs and employee preferences. Unused vacation may roll over annually with department head approval not to exceed the maximum allowed number of hours.
C. 
No employee shall be allowed to use vacation time in an amount that exceeds their balance at the time the approved vacation time begins unless otherwise provided by law, applicable MOU, or resolution of the board.

All other vacation terms such as earning rates, approvals, payment upon separation, and county employment during vacation shall be set forth in the personnel manual, applicable MOUs, or by resolution of the board.
