For statutory provisions empowering local authorities to authorize, by permit, the movement of overweight and oversize vehicles on highways within their jurisdiction, see Veh. Code §35780 et seq.
The maximum weight that shall be allowed on any vehicle or other load driven over either of the following described county bridges is ten thousand pounds, and in the case of vehicles this shall include the weight of a vehicle and its contents:
A. 
The county bridge over Sutter Creek, about one and one-half miles west of the town of Ione;
B. 
The county bridge over Jackson Creek, about one mile west of the town of Buena Vista on the Albert Ringer Ranch property.

The authority for the limitations set out in Sections 10.24.010 through 10.24.040 is Section 35700 et seq. of the Vehicle Code of the state. In addition to other exemptions granted by the Vehicle Code, all implements of husbandry, as defined in Section 36000 thereof, are specifically exempted under the ordinance codified herein.

No person shall operate a motor vehicle or other vehicle or other object or contrivance on or over the following described roads when the weight of the vehicle, or vehicle and load on the vehicle, exceeds a total of twenty thousand pounds:
A. 
That portion of the Pine Grove-Volcano County Road between the intersection of the county road with State Highway No. 88 and the intersection of the county road with State Highway 88 and the intersection of the county road with Volcano-Pioneer County Road;
B. 
That portion of County Road No. 246 from County Road No. 244 (Bear River Road) to County Road No. 8060;
C. 
Pioneer Buckhorn Road, being more particularly Amador County Road No. 236, or Pioneer Creek Road, being more particularly Amador County Road No. 110;
D. 
That portion of Ridge Road No. 22 from its intersection with Climax Road No. 2 east to the Ridge Road's intersection with State Highway No. 88;
E. 
Charleston Volcano Road from Shakeridge Road to the stop sign in the town of Volcano;
F. 
Stony Creek Road from Lancha Plana Road to Highway 88;
G. 
Carbondale Road from State Route 16 to the Ione Michigan Bar Road;
H. 
County Road No. 34, Old Sutter Creek-Amador City Road, from its intersection with the city limits of Amador City south to the intersection of the county road with the city limits of the City of Sutter Creek.

Section 10.24.060 shall not be effective with respect to any vehicle which is subject to the provisions of Article 2 (commencing at Section 1031 of Chapter 5 of Part 1 of Division 1 of the Public Utilities Code; any commercial vehicle coming from an unrestricted highway having ingress and egress by direct route to and from the restricted highway when necessary for the purpose of making pickups or deliveries of goods, wares and merchandise from or to any building or structure located on the restricted highway or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling or construction of any building or structure upon the restricted highway for which a building permit has previously been obtained; the operation of ambulances or hearses; any vehicle owned, operated, controlled or used by a public utility in connection with the construction, installation, operation, maintenance or repair of any public utility facilities; or vehicles operated as an incident to any industrial, commercial or agricultural enterprise conducted within the boundaries of the unincorporated residential subdivision area.
