It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or propel any bicycle, tricycle, velocipede, motorbicycle, automobile or any other riding machine or horseless vehicle upon the streets without having attached to such bicycle, tricycle, velocipede, motorbicycle, or automobile, a gong, bell or horn in good working order and of proper size and character sufficient to give warning of the approach of such vehicles to pedestrians and to drivers of other vehicles. Such gong, bell or horn shall be of such size only as may be necessary to give such warning.
