This chapter shall be known as, and may be cited as, the "Edgewood Criminal Code to Include Title 9 of the Pierce County Code Incorporated by Reference."

There are hereby further adopted by reference any and all implementing and administrative rules and enforcement remedies now in effect that have been promulgated pursuant to PCC Title 9, except that, unless the context requires otherwise, any reference to the "county" or to "Pierce County" shall refer to the city of Edgewood, and any reference to county staff shall refer to the mayor or designee.

To the extent that any provision of the Pierce County Code, or any other law, rule or regulation referenced in PCC Title 9 is necessary or convenient to establish the validity, enforceability or interpretation of those chapters, then such provision of the Pierce County Code and chapter, or other law, rule or regulation is hereby adopted by reference.

Any license issued under the authority of state law to engage in any legal activity shall be legal authority to engage in the gambling activities for which the license was issued throughout the city, except that the city, in accordance with RCW 9.46.295, as the same now exists or may hereafter be amended, prohibits the following gambling activities within the city:
A. 
The conduct or operation of social card games as commercial stimulants.

Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof be subject to a fine of not to exceed $5,000 or by imprisonment not to exceed one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
