The California Wildland Urban Interface Code, 2025 Edition, as published by the California Building Standards Commission, Chapters 1—7, as modified by the amendments, additions, and deletions set forth hereinafter is hereby adopted by reference as the California Wildland Urban Interface Code, 2025 Edition, of the city of South San Francisco and may be cited as such.

Set forth below are the amendments, additions, and additions to the California Wildland Urban Interface Code.
For purposes of citation, the amended sections of the 2025 California Wildland Urban Interface Code, including appendices identified, are renumbered by adding 15.25. before each section of the California Wildland Urban Interface Code (e.g., Sections 101.1 and 5001.1 of the California Wildland Urban Interface Code shall be cited respectively as Section 15.25.101.1 and 15.25.5001.1 of this code. Sections, subsections, paragraphs and text not amended are not included below and shall remain in full force and effect.
CHAPTER 1 ADMINISTRATION
California Wildland Urban Interface Code, Section 101.1 is amended to read as follows:
[A] 101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Wildland Urban Interface Code of the City of South San Francisco, hereinafter referred to as "this code."
California Wildland Urban Interface Code, Section 103.1, as amended to read as follows:
[A] 103.1 Creation of agency. The South San Francisco Fire Department Fire Prevention Division is hereby created and the official in charge thereof shall be known as the fire code official. The function of the agency shall be implementation, administration, and enforcement of the provisions of this code.
California Wildland Urban Interface Code, Section 109.3.7, as amended to read as follows:
[A] 109.3.7 Violation penalties. Persons who shall violate a provision of this code or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, install, alter, repair, or do work in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the fire code official, or of a permit or certification used under provisions of this code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 or by imprisonment not exceeding six months or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.

The city hereby adopts the CAL FIRE Local Responsibility Area (LRA) maps for the city of South San Francisco, as published on February 24, 2025. The map, approved by the city of South San Francisco, is hereby incorporated by reference, and entitled "City Fire Hazard Severity Zones."
