LIMOUSINE
Includes any automobile or motor car used in the business of carrying passengers for hire to provide prearranged passenger transportation at a premium fare on a dedicated, nonscheduled, charter basis that is not conducted on a regular route and with a seating capacity of no more than 14 passengers, not including the driver, and meeting the standards established by N.J.S.A. 48:16-3.1.
LIMOUSINE DRIVER
Any person certified by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission as qualified for employment as a limousine driver in accordance with N.J.S.A. 48:16-22.3a.
LIMOUSINE SERVICE
The business of carrying passengers for hire by limousine(s).
PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS
In reference to a municipality, the location of the main place of business of the limousine service in the municipality where limousine service is conducted, where limousines are dispatched, or where limousine drivers report for duty.
A. 
All limousine services who operate or maintain a principal place of business in the Township of Bordentown shall obtain a Township Business License, Chapter 214 (Business Licenses).
B. 
All limousine services who operate or maintain a principal place of business in the Township of Bordentown shall obtain a Limousine Vehicle/Owner's License for each limousine.
C. 
All limousine services who operate or maintain a principal place of business in the Township of Bordentown shall obtain a Limousine Driver's License for each limousine driver.
A. 
Every applicant for a Limousine Vehicle/Owner's License under this chapter shall provide the following:
(1) 
Business name and owner of business.
(2) 
Physical address and mailing address, if different, of the principal place of business.
(3) 
Contact information for the limousine service.
(4) 
Number of employees.
(5) 
List of vehicles owned and operated by the business.
(6) 
Copy of current New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Registration for each vehicle.
(7) 
As mandated by N.J.S.A. 48:16-14, a copy of Certificate of Liability Insurance Policy of a company duly licensed to transact business in the State of New Jersey providing insurance for the payment of not less than $1.5 million.
B. 
Every applicant for a Limousine Driver License under this chapter shall provide the following:
(1) 
First and last name.
(2) 
Residence address.
(3) 
Applicant's date of birth (must be over 21 years of age).
(4) 
Contact information, including mobile telephone number and e-mail address, if any.
(5) 
Copy of current driver's license (with photo).
(6) 
Medical Examination Sheet or Medical Examiner's Certificate (issued with CDL license).
All limousine drivers must submit to being fingerprinted and consent to a criminal history record background check as required by state statute (see N.J.S.A. 48:16-22.3a). The Township may request proof of compliance with this and any other state statutes related to the suitability of limousine drivers.
Fees for each Township Limousine Vehicle/Owner's license and Township Limousine Driver's License, and renewals thereof, shall be as set forth in Ch. 260, Fee Schedule.
